I mean this is different. This should never have started in the first place. This is a terrible thing, and we want to see it stopped. We want peace to come there and allow those people to sort out their own lives, of course, there will be more bloodshed of course but not on such a vast scale and no so many innocent people involved. This is something that has to happen, America has to pull out of Vietnam, but a great nation like America is not easily persuaded to pull out of something they have themselves got entangled into for the sake of the view of point of view of face, you know, it is going to be hard going. There is a lot to be done yet we must succeed in this. I have been very concerned with this.

That is, a lot of my time and interest has been spent trying to be of service in that way in common, of course, with thousands upon thousands of souls from this side. Vast bands of souls arrive you might say, of souls from this world, from this side, have gone into that area to try and be of comfort and help, and to be of influence for good as best we can. It is only when they are aware of it, when they are there, that they can understand it. Most of the people involved are really in a sense so involved in it yet they don’t understand it, and they don’t even know why it is happening. People who bring these things about, they are appalling.

That they should allow this to happen. I don’t think people can understand, in fact I know that the very people who are even now fighting are bewildered. It is terrible when just a few politicians in high places can bring about this. One would have thought that humanity could have advanced by now to solve any differences in a different way, a round table. These wars never solve anything. They only bring misery and never solve anything. They only bring misery and more unhappiness and greater intolerance, and they don’t help humanity, they separate. The terrible catastrophe of this war can only really be understood from the point of view, from our side, we see what you cannot see; we know what takes place with the souls when they leave the body very suddenly. It is terribly tragic. They are so earthbound. They are in need of such help. Whole groups of souls, band of thousands and thousands of souls from this side go out into your world acting in the capacity of helpers and being of service to souls who are in such dire need and necessity, women and children and men of all nations. Of course there are some that become very earthbound and cling to the earth. Oh! It is very difficult for them to give up material thoughts and things.

They cling and find pleasure in things through other people on earth. Sometimes they become almost like obsessing entities and indeed this can happen. In wartime it is terrible the number of young people clinging to the earth, holding onto the earth, finding satisfaction, finding interest in people on the earth, especially in younger people. I don’t think anyone in your world realises it is impossible to kill the person. The body will die and the person remains. Sometimes they remain very close to the earth. Of course, the majority of the souls when they pass from your world to this do not cling to the earth, they are soon released from earth conditions but there are some who for various reasons and under different circumstances according to the individuals do cling to the earth and make use of other people on earth and influence them for bad. Sometimes people in your world do things in, what you call the heat of the moment which are not really their responsibility.

These people are sometimes influenced by entities who have not progressed very much. It is as if the person loses control of themselves on your side and they are acting under influences that are not good. Often when a person comes back to normality, sanity as you call it, are horrified by the things that have happened in this temporary state of not being in full possession of their faculties, or senses. You know people have not enough knowledge of these things. There are people in mental asylums who are, really, in a sense not to blame. I mean it is not their fault, they are being used, they are being obsessed by entities near the earth. All this is very important and people should know about it, I think. A lot of these bad crimes are caused by this particular thing.

There is no doubt that you will find that you will have a cycle of these things. If one type of crime happens you will find that there are repetitions of this crime in different places. You see, this is sometimes due to influences of individuals who are very earthbound and sometimes, of course, it affects the young, and impressionable people. After all young people are invariably very psychic. They read these things and it effects them that is why if in entertainment, films, plays and things like that if everything were on a different level, the more, how do you say, the more base or more low the entertainment is, the more unpleasant, the more materialistic it is the more that will influence particularly young minds. That is why crime and all these things are very bad in film and plays.

They don’t do good, they do a lot of harm especially to young and impressionable people. If only people would try to think beautiful thoughts and live in a different way. Some people who are on your side are very weak willed, and way to highly strung, very sensitive, at the same time they are unconsciously perhaps mediums of a kind. Sometimes they can be influenced often by souls who are not very progressed. Who make use of them.. One has to be very careful when one knows of this subject….whenever one is, for instance, or hopes to become a Medium that you sort of do this in the right way. There are dangers. One must be aware of these dangers because like can attract like.

That is why when one sits in a séance or has anything to do with this in an active way one should always be aspiring, trying to lift oneself up from material things. Opening up ones consciousness to things that are of a higher level, so that you can attract souls who can be of real service. It is very important I think that people should realize that as they think they are, and so they will act accordingly and that is why it is bad to let yourself get caught up in the things that are not good whether it be in magazines, books or films. The thing is to avoid these subjects and these things that are unpleasant which cannot possibly make you think on the right level, which cannot possibly help you to become a better person. I don’t say that one necessarily imitates always but the point is that there is always possibility that influences by suggestion can be put being which can influence people to do the wrong thing. People do not realize the power of thought. Thought is the living creator and the reality of life. Everything is by thought. Our world is a thought world. It is a very solid and a real world to us but fundamentally all life is thought. If there is no thought, no consciousness there is no life.

All life is consciousness and when people realize that the things that they are conscious of is their way of life….. it is really themselves in a sense individually and if they are conscious of bad things or allow those bad thoughts to penetrate or allow those thoughts to take possession then all sorts of bad things will evolve from it. That is why it is important to think good things, happy thoughts, pleasant thoughts, things that will help one to be a different person. When you have so much trouble, tragedy, misery and heavens knows what else in your world it is very difficult, but nevertheless, every individual can make a contribution living as best one can for the good rather than the bad. Wars are terrible things. I am very upset, very concerned with this, have been for a long time. Anyway you don’t want to hear me talk about war but I spoke particularly today about war because I feel this is very important. To let people know how we are concerned with it, trying to help. Souls from this side are drawing to the earth helping to save the world from destruction.

There is so much going on, so much need in your world for comfort, so much need for wisdom. There are so many people who are in ignorance, so many people that cling to outgrown creeds, faiths and dogmas, people who are blind in a sense they cannot see the truth. We must try and bring them into light and give them wisdom, truth. People are groping in the dark in your world. All these varying religions separate men same as politics separate men. The whole world is suffering through politics and religion.

These are the two great evils for the world, there is no doubt about that, although there is good in religion. I do not say that there are not good people and there are not some good teachings, but most of these things are interwoven with other things which are of a material nature which hold men down. Until man is free he cannot expect to see and to understand and to act independently for the common good. It seems to me that people are held back by all sorts of things. It is all so sad because religion is a great barrier. You take India, one country alone with all the different religions there. The different conceptions of God etc…. not only that the different languages quite apart from the religious aspect. All these things are separating humanity.

That is why it will take decades of time before there is any real peace, and real understanding, or any real progress there. They have got to learn to live in a fuller sense, in the right sense, and break down all these stupid barriers that have been built up through centuries of wrong thinking. That is just one country alone, and there are so many places, so many countries, where religion is the bugbear. It is the thing that holds people from progressing mentally, spiritually and even materially. India can never progress materially while there are all these different languages, all the different ‘patois’, different religion aspects, different acceptances of beliefs and so on. Religion is the greatest barrier of all in India, for peace. We are working on every possible conceivable thing to help the world, but it is very difficult to infiltrate our thoughts.

That is why we need more instruments, more mediums to give enlightenment and they are very difficult to come by. There are few mediums, in fact so few that are really good mediums. We can only keep on trying but it is a heartbreaking business when we see the misery of your world, and realize that we are so limited as to what we can achieve. I do not think it is possible for people, say in England or America particularly, to realize the misery of untold numbers of people who suffer from all manner of illness due to the conditions under which they live, and the lack of warmth, food and the necessities of life, which are taken so much for granted by so many people in so many countries. At Christmas time when you have so much, there are some that have so little, it is terrible.
