The earth life is important but it is only the training ground of the Soul. It is only the school of life in which we learn the lessons which are necessary for our evolution and our advancement. It is a vital and important part of our training, but it is not the everything as many people think that the physical world is all that matters. It is not so. It is only part. It is only in a sense a reflection.

If only people would realise, if they could have more balance and try to live the earthly life with the inspiration of the Spirit and the knowledge of the Spirit, and to walk hand in hand with those who have gone before, to take their advise and their knowledge and experience that would benefit them, but to know from it all we are gaining knowledge and experience. Often from the bad things do we learn most. we must not be afraid. One should not have fear for fear is probably the greatest barrier of all towards evolution and to finding the path to true happiness. One should never be afraid for whatever may happen to one, it is not necessarily always bad even when it seems bad. From it we learn something that is necessary for our evolution. All the things that people concern themselves with most, sometimes are the most unimportant things.

One should concern oneself with most are the things that are fundamentally good, the things that will not die, that part of us that is indestructable. The thing is to know what is good and,what is important and to cling to that and to develop those things which we know we can bring with us from the earth, those things which are essentially of God. We lose the path so easily on earth. We run after all the things that bring us momentarily happiness but which in themselves are fleeting things. We are like children, you know, that we have toys for the moment we treasure and then we discard them. We lose interest in them. We must learn to understand and appreciate what are the right things and cling to those things and know that in those things we find our true selves and our true evolution and development and happiness in consequence. We must learn to be more understanding,more kind, more forgiving and to forget ourselves in love and in service.

In that we find true happines. So many people are concerned with self and as soon as one begins to forget self one begins to find true happiness. One learns from these things what living means. So many people are so wrapped up in themselves they have no time for anyone else. They are running after all the things that are illusions. The realities of life are to be found by forgetting yourself and in forgetting yourself,you really begin to find yourself in consequence, the real self. If only people understood within themselves is the power to overcome all things. There is nothing impossible to achieve if you have faith and the realization of the power within yourself, You sometimes, you say this and you say that, you want this and you want that. If those things are good for you and you have faith in these things, that you will do the right thing when you have them, they will come to you eventually. You must have faith but you must always know that if you achieve through faith these things, that they are things that are given to you - or are lent to you to do good with and to help others and to bring comfort and bring happiness to others.

There are no limits to what a man may achieve even when there are what seems to be great odds against him on earth, but over here, of course, there are not exactly obstacles put in a mans path but at the same time the obstacles in a kind of way are there but they are of his own creation. You see, you cannot make yourself more than you are until you yourself have eradicated certain aspects of self which have been marring the effect. This is awfully difficult to explain but this world of ours it is a world of great tranquility, great beauty. Of course, to enter into that state of mind and being you yourself, to some extent, must make an effort, be prepared. That is why there are certain spheres where the life in a sense is not far removed from the earth, indeed, it is a condition of life very similar but these are preliminary or early stages of ones evolution. Usually very few people stay there very long. Most people soon begin to think and act differently and change their attitude and, in consequence, they soon are transported.

This doesn't apply to a lot of people only to the very bad types of people who enter into such condition. The average person who has neither been particularly bad, or perhaps, not particularly good but been average and has, at least, made some attempt on themselves, they usually find themselves in a very happy atmosphere and, of course, always met by many friends and relations who help them considerably in the early stages of evolution and coming here. Everything here is flexible. One can change in a miraculous kind of way. I think most people are rather like the chrysalis it is not until they come here that they are like the butterfly. Most people throw off this covering, this veneer which is purely material. Very few people find difficulty in this.

There are some, of course, who are very immersed in the material. The more material a person is the more difficult it is for them to settle here in the beginning. That is why it is important to have knowledge and experience of these things when on earth, it helps considerably. Words are very inadiquate things to explain this, sometimes some people cling to earth for a while but usually it is because obviously they haven't really got away from earth conditions. They are still clinging to outworn ideas and old thoughts and impressions but usually with the help of Souls from this side who are more progressed, a person that is so caught up in material thoughts and things is soon released from these, Everything in our world is created by the power of thought. We are as we think, no more and no less.

This, of course, applies in your world too, but people may think one thing in your world and say something quite different, and no one would be any the wiser, but here that is not possible. Here, your thoughts are very very real and very tangible and it is not possible for you in any way to say anything here that would deceive another person, because here, your thoughts are tangible to the extent that they are immediately apparent and immediately tangible to other people around and about you, people that you are associated with. Here, everything is real, everything is natural, everything is a process of change. We don't become this or that just by chance, it is what we ourselves have created and made of ourselves. We do all this ourselves. Others may lead us, others may guide us, others may point the way and assist us, but we still have to work out our own salvation, no one can do it for you. Funny thing is, people on your side think that anything to do with our life must be sort of.. OH!..very strange, very peculiar, if it exists at all, and that it is vastly different to earth, but it is not so, it is merely an extension of your life, and an extension in the sense of time too. We do not have time as you know it, but we have an understanding which I can't begin to explain to you.

Appreciation of time we have, a sense or form of time,but it isn't a measurable time like days,and weeks, nor is it measured by the going down of the sun,or the rising of the sun in the morning,it is because we don't have tie sun in the same sense. We have light and we have warmth, but there is no sun as you understand it, neither is there any moon. We don't have the seasons the same as you do, and yet our world is as real to us as yours is to you. We have trees and flowers and forests and lakes and we have many aspects of human life as you know it, and, of course, everything here is of a natural being, there is great beauty in nature. Here there are birds, there are flowers,there are animals, pets, particularly that we have known and loved.

I have several of my own, and if only people could realize the beauty and the happiness and the joy of this life, and how we see ourselves, for the first time I suppose much more clearly. We realize our weaknesses, and we endeavour to alter ourselves gradually by effort. Nothing is necessarily easy, but everything here is a challenge, it is a challenge in such a marvellous way that one feels elated that there is this opportunity to become something far removed from the old self. No matter how progressed one may have been on earth there is always the challenge of becoming a more highly evolved being with a greater wisdom, experience, understanding and a greater and deeper love. I feel that with myself and all of us here that I know, that this is a tremendous life. I have been very active. I have been trying to learn something that I have wanted to learn for a very long time.

That is, I want to be a musician. I am very interested in music. Always I like the music, you know when I was on your side I learn a little, but I did not have the opportunity to continue study, or to take it too seriously, it was not possible. I had a piano, and I play a little, try to learn to play and to use the fingers, but it was not very good. Now I learn properly and I shall, eventually, I hope, be quite a good musician. Over here, we have everything that you associate with earth that is important. That is in an artistic way and first one must learn like you would learn on earth basically the foundation, and then you work gradually to something that is more perfected, but on the very higher spheres. I am told,that it is possible to create music by the process of thought, by being able to send out from within your inner Soul the harmony and the music, so that it can be received by others, so that they are able to hear audibly what you are feeling emotionally deep within yourself, but this is something so far removed from me.

I realize before one can hope to do that, one must learn all the basic necessary scales, everything that the composers have to learn. We have to start in everything, no matter what it is, not only music. We have to do the spade work, we have to learn all the necessary things that are essential before you can hope to be creative. Everyone here has opportunity to study, to learn something which appeals to them, but, of course, all this is part of one's evolution. People don't seem to realize that the Arts are the highest expression of man's endeavour, that the Arts, the creative Arts, whether it is in music, or painting, or whatever it may be in an artistic sense, everything springs from the fundamental desiring of man for Spiritual achievement and attainment, and on earth there is indication of this. When you think back in history, the things that really live, really, still continue to exist and to live as something vital, you know, are the Arts.

Whether it is a great painting that was painted. five hundred years ago, it still has the tremendous impact, it still has the tremendous Soul value, the creative power which was given to it by it's originator. Same with music, great music, great compositions that are still played, whether it is Mozart,whether it is Chopin, whether it is Debussy, whoever it may be who has created something from within their inner Soul, it is the expression of their desiring and uplifting thoughts and creative ability and power. It is something that is beyond space and time.

It is a living reality. This is important. People don't realize that it is only through creative art that the human soul can begin to show itself in it's true light when yet still on earth. In the Movies there is the possibility of this, for while the celluloid lasts the films can be shown and people can see the creative ability of the directors and the writer and the artist, the actor.

All this is very interesting, I feel,and these things which so many people seem to think are transitory are not so. They are things which go on. That is why people laugh perhaps, but it is true to say we do have movies here. They are not exactly quite in the same way as you understand the term. They are not exactly celluloid reels, but they are creative immages which have value,in as much that they are beyond the short space of earthly time for which they were intended.

The same as an old movie like fourty years ago, that was creative, if it was of artistic merit and had something in it which was obviously creative in the highest sense, that still has some bearings and still has some meaning HERE. That is why there are what you would term archives where there are replicas of works of art even among what we call the movies. I am not suggesting my films were works of art, although there was a lot of effort put into them, and one endeavoured to put one's Soul, one endeavoured to create character and personality, and the director endeavoured to bring something fresh and new, and something intelligent. But some of the great Movies, really great Movies do still exist here.

There are quite a lot, much more than one would think possible, and if they have a part to move humanity, if they have a power to make thousands of people elated, or make thousands of people sad, or if they can enter into the emotions of the character and the lives of the people portrayed they are serving a purpose on earth, and in a sense they still serve a purpose HERE on certain planes before,of course, one has risen to a higher realm of consciousness. I think it is very important that people should realize that there are many, many, planes or many Spheres of life which are very important, through which we all pass.

I do not think the average person, if there is such a thing as an average person,can escape going through these different environments or conditions of life. They are important because we must evolve slowly. We don't suddenly become angels, we don't suddenly become super souls or intelligences.We are no different, or very little different after we have died than what we were before.
